Senior Manager Conference Content & Formats​ (m/f/d) - DSEI Germany

Your mission
Programme & Content Development  
  • Overall responsibility for the conceptual design and implementation of the convention segment of DSEI Germany in close coordination with executive management 
  • Development of an innovative setup that goes beyond a traditional conference and sets benchmarks in terms of format and content 
  • Development, structuring, and continuous optimisation of programme content, including adjustments throughout the planning and implementation process 
  • Identification of relevant topics, formats, and speaker profiles based on geopolitical, security, and defence policy developments 
Speaker & Stakeholder Management 
  • Establishment, maintenance, and management of relationships with ministries, international organisations, national authorities, industry companies, and research institutions 
  • Acquisition, support, and coordination of high-level speakers and panel participants 
  • Close coordination with all stakeholders both in the lead-up to the event and during its execution 
Dynamic Demonstrations & Live Content 
  • Overall responsibility for the conceptualisation, planning, and execution of dynamic demonstrations of military equipment in close coordination with executive management 
  • Active contribution to the content-related and conceptual development 
  • Creation, maintenance, and implementation of a detailed project plan to ensure timely delivery 
  • Coordination of all participating organisations and partners, taking into account scheduling, security requirements, access regulations, and operational frameworks 
  • Close collaboration with Event Operations, Safety & Security teams, public authorities, and other internal and external stakeholders 
Project Management & Internal Collaboration 
  • Management of defined sub-projects in the areas of content, programme, and demonstrations 
  • Close collaboration with management, operations, safety & security, and other internal teams 
  • Ensuring the smooth on-site execution of all programme-related components
Your profile
  • In-depth knowledge of international relations, geopolitics, defence, and security 
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience, e.g. in a defence- or security-related think tank, industry, research institution, or governmental organisation (e.g. German Armed Forces, Federal Ministry of Defence) 
  • Strong organisational skills, analytical thinking, and a structured, precise working style 
  • Confident professional presence and excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • German and English: business fluent (C1/C2), confident in discussions, presentations, and written communication
Ideally, you also bring: 
  • Experience with large-scale conferences, trade fairs, or international event formats 
  • Experience working with political, defence industry, or governmental stakeholders 
  • Former employees of the Federal Ministry of Defence or the German Armed Forces are expressly welcome 
  • Flexibility regarding working hours during intensive project phases before and during the event

DSEI is firmly established as the leading international defence exhibition in the UK and Japan. With the launch of DSEI Germany, a European edition will be added to the portfolio. The first event will take place from 9 to 12 March 2027 at Hannover Messe, one of the largest and most modern venues in the world.

DSEI Germany is aimed towards a high-level international audience, including over 1,600 exhibitors, government delegations, national pavilions and companies from traditional and non-traditional defence and security technology.
Deine Aufgaben
Programm & Content-Entwicklung 
  • Gesamtverantwortung für die inhaltliche Konzeption und Umsetzung des Convention-Teils der DSEI Germany in enger Abstimmung mit der Geschäftsführung
  • Entwicklung eines innovativen Set-Ups, das mehr ist als eine klassische Konferenz und Benchmarks in Sachen Format und Inhalte setzt.
  • Entwicklung, Strukturierung und laufende Optimierung der Programminhalte inklusive Anpassungen im Planungs- und Umsetzungsprozess
  • Identifikation relevanter Themen, Formate und Sprecherprofile auf Basis geopolitischer, sicherheits- und verteidigungspolitischer Entwicklungen
      
Speaker & Stakeholder Management 
  • Aufbau, Pflege und Steuerung von Kontakten zu Ministerien, internationalen Organisationen, nationalen Behörden, Industrieunternehmen und Forschungseinrichtungen
  • Akquise, Betreuung und Koordination hochrangiger Sprecher und Sprecherinnen und Panelteilnehmer
  • Enge Abstimmung mit allen Beteiligten im Vorfeld der Veranstaltung sowie während der Durchführung
 
Dynamic Demonstrations & Live-Content 
  • Gesamtverantwortung für die Konzeption, Planung und Umsetzung der dynamischen Vorführungen militärischer Ausrüstung in enger Abstimmung mit der Geschäftsführung
  • Aktive Mitwirkung an der inhaltlichen und konzeptionellen Entwicklung 
  • Erstellung, Pflege und Umsetzung eines detaillierten Projektplans zur Sicherstellung einer termingerechten Durchführung
  • Koordination aller beteiligten Organisationen und Partner unter Berücksichtigung von Zeitplanung, Sicherheitsanforderungen, Zugängen und operativen Rahmenbedingungen
  • Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Event Operations, Sicherheits- und Behördenstellen sowie weiteren internen und externen Stakeholdern

Projektmanagement & interne Zusammenarbeit 
  • Steuerung definierter Teilprojekte im Bereich Content, Programm und Demonstrationen
  • Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Management, Operations, Safety& Security sowie weiteren internen Teams
  • Sicherstellung einer reibungslosen Umsetzung aller inhaltlichen Programmbestandteile vor Ort
Dein Profil
  • Fundierte Kenntnisse in den Bereichen internationale Beziehungen, Geopolitik, Verteidigung und Sicherheit
  • Mindestens fünf Jahre relevante Berufserfahrung, z. B. in einem verteidigungs- oder sicherheitsbezogenen Thinktank, in Industrie, Forschung oder einer staatlichen Institution (z. B. Bundeswehr, BMVg)
  • Ausgeprägte organisatorische Fähigkeiten, analytisches Denkvermögen sowie eine strukturierte, präzise Arbeitsweise
  • Souveränes Auftreten sowie exzellente mündliche und schriftliche Kommunikationsfähigkeiten
  • Deutsch und Englisch: verhandlungssicher (C1/C2), sicher in Gesprächen, Präsentationen und schriftlicher Kommunikation
Idealerweise bringst du mit: 
  • Erfahrung mit großen Konferenzen, Messen oder internationalen Veranstaltungsformaten
  • Erfahrung im Umgang mit politischen, verteidigungsindustriellen oder behördlichen Stakeholdern
  • Ehemalige Mitarbeitende des BMVg oder der Bundeswehrsind ausdrücklich willkommen
  • Flexibilität hinsichtlich Arbeitszeiten in intensiven Projektphasen vor und während der Veranstaltung
